Yes. The HS-GEN-25 works with Dragon Medical One, Dragon Professional, Dragon Legal, and Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Because it connects over USB with its own digital sound processing, it runs on any Windows PC without a separate sound card.
Is this the same headset that comes with Dragon Medical Practice Edition?
Yes — the HS-GEN-25 is the official Nuance headset bundled with new Dragon Medical Practice Edition purchases. Buying it on its own is the standard way to add a second headset or replace a lost or damaged one.
Does it connect by USB or a 3.5 mm audio jack?
USB. The connector carries USB-enhanced digital audio, which avoids the line noise and sound-card variability you can get from 3.5 mm analog headsets — one of the reasons Nuance approves it for speech recognition.
Do I need a separate sound card or USB adapter?
No. The headset is a self-contained USB audio device — plug it into any available USB-A port and Windows installs it automatically. You would only need a powered USB hub or a USB-A adapter if your PC is short on ports.
Will the HS-GEN-25 work on a Mac?
It is designed and approved for Dragon on Windows. Nuance no longer ships a current Dragon product for macOS, so for Mac dictation we would point you to Dragon Medical One in a browser or a cloud option like vScription. Contact us and we will recommend the right setup.
